It seems that the big media conglomerates around the world are trying to push forward the A.C.T.A (Anti-counterfeiting Trade Agreement) which basically gives them the right to kick you off the internet for copryright infringement.

Some details about it:

ISPs will be responsible for MONITORING what you do on the internet and if they find you in violation of someone’s copyright, they will cut you off. You can’t defend yourself against it. No due process or anything.

Police can SEIZE AND SEARCH (without probable cause, mind you.) your computer and or any other electronic device you have and arrest you for having copyrighted material on your devices. What ever happened to the 4th Amendment?

And that’s the tip of the iceberg…

So if you want to stop this MASSIVE abuse of civil liberties, contact your local rep and bitch them out about it…

Inside Scientology

Scientology must be lawsuit happy…

After my last post about Scientology suing a Italian Catholic woman for publishing her experiences with Scientology, they’re doing it again…

It seems that Scientology just loves using lawsuits to get what they want.

But it seems it works both ways:

It seems like this is gonna be the year of the lawsuit for Scientology.

Here’s hoping they lose every one of them.

The local Scientologists are running ads in the The Tennessean, which is headquartered in Nashville, where the biggest gathering of Southern Baptists are at.

Yea, that’s a smart idea. That’s like me walking in to the biggest crack den in the state and yelling ‘POLICE!’.

And Southern Baptists are just as lawsuit happy as the Scientologists. My money is on the Southern Baptists on this one.

And speaking of lawsuits,

The Scientology branch in ITALY is suing a CATHOLIC publisher for libel for a book from a ex-Scientologist.

Can someone tell me what’s wrong with this picture?

I’m waiting for the vid when the POPE bitch slaps David Miscarriage…

This is gonna be a VERY interesting year for Scientology…

What does Scientology have on Nicole Kidman?

http://entertainment.oneindia.in/hollywood/top-stories/scoop/2009/nicole-kidman-scientology-151209.html

It seems during a interview promoting a new movie she’s starring in, Nicole Kidman, ex-wife of Scientology’s poster boy Tom Cruise, she flatly refused to answer questions about her involvement with the ‘church’.

And I quote: “I”m here to publicise Nine. If I was here to do an expose on myself then I”d be like, ”Let’’s go,” but I have no interest in discussing any of that.”

Well, the real question is, why wouldn’t/won’t answer any questions about Scientology?

Do they have some hold on her? Did she sign some sort of agreement when she divorced Tommy Boy?

Because 2009 was the year that Scientology took some serious PR hits, including the defection of several high level officials, being convicted in France for fraud, and several labor lawsuits going on.

You would think that someone of her status would be one of the ones to be jumping on the bandwagon to say what kind of crock the Co$ is…

But at this point, we will never know.

Nicole, you seem like a decent enough person, do the right thing.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing. – Edmund Burke. (paraphrased.)

Merry Xmas!

Well, I’m taking this post off for Xmas! Happy Holidays, everyone! Here’s a vid to enjoy!

1-2-3-FORE!

Well, I usually would be commenting about my fave target, Scientology, but this time I’m gonna say something about American’s favorite golf hero, Tiger Woods.

It seems Tiger got caught with his pants down…LITERALLY.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5j3xiLSwmYuLOOnNF45CME819jJvAD9CHQGMG1

Tiger has been playing more holes than a golf tournament. What a surprise…

But what surprises me is the reaction by the people about it.

‘OH NOES! NOT TIGER, ANYONE BUT TIGER!’ Puh-leaze.

I, for one, am not surprised by this sh*t. Pro athletes have a history of double dipping. Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabaar, O.J. S—oops, wrong guy…he couldn’t CUT IT…

But athletes aren’t the only ones who have extra curricular activities. Politicians are usually the ones to end up on the front page at least once a year. Bill Clinton getting a hummer from Monica took a few years to straighten out.

I’m sure after awhile, this thing will all blow over and Tiger will be a ‘hero’ again, even though he shouldn’t.

Which begs the question: ‘How come, as a society, continue to do this hero worship thing to people who don’t deserve it?’

And you thought Faux News was bad…

Begin Transmission:

Well, anyone who thought Faux’s news was bad, this is GONNA be a helluva lot worse.

From:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/23/business/media/23govern.html

It seems that a sister company of the St. Petersburg’s Times is being sold to a a group of Scientologists. Which is strange, considering that the St. Petersburg’s has been very critical of Scientology.

Coverage of Scientology has long been an important story for The St. Petersburg Times, given that the church’s spiritual headquarters is located in nearby Clearwater, Fla.

So it came as a bit of a shock when, on Friday, the newspaper’s management announced that it would sell one of its sibling publications to a California media company whose top management are Scientologists.

And it basically didn’t bother the higher ups about it. Even though the staff had questions.

On Friday, the staff learned of the magazine’s sale, which had long been in the works. And at a staff gathering, the question of Scientology was raised, given the paper’s aggressive coverage of the church.

Yea. Would Pepsi start selling Sprite for Coca Cola?

And the staff is worried about the future:

Some of the anxiety among the staff stems from a 2001 article in the Sacramento News and Review, an independent weekly, about e.Republic. That article, which has been widely read by Governing’s reporters in the last few days, reported that e.Republic’s staff members are required to read a book on management called “Speaking From Experience,” written by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.

From what I could research, ‘Speaking From Experience’ is a managerial handbook. But how effective is it really? L. Ron was a so-so writer and a ex-Navy officer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L._Ron_Hubbard#Military_career) . Basically he wasn’t very good at the job. So how can anyone take anything L. Ron had to say about business, seriously?

So I got a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot more pro-Scientology articles coming from this magazine.

I guess if you can’t defend your stance, you buy out the competition. The good ole American system.

If you’ll excuse me, I gotta shred the Constitution now…
